Placement of broiler chicks in Georgia during the week ending August 4, 2012 was 28.0 million, down 1 percent from the previous week, but up 1 percent from the comparable week last year, according to the USDA, NASS, Georgia Field Office. An estimated 31.7 million broiler type eggs were set by Georgia hatcheries, up 1 percent from the previous week, and up 1 percent from the comparable week a year earlier.
