FVSU Georgia Center for Aquaculture Development to Host Seminar

The Georgia Center for Aquaculture Development at Fort Valley State University will be hosting a seminar July 12 in room 102 at the C.W. Pettigrew Center. The title of the seminar is “Introduction to Small Scale Recirculating Aquaculture Systems,” and it is from 1 to 5 p.m.
Small scale recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) allow the production of aquaculture products in small spaces with limited water resources.
Presentations will be made by Dr. Sandy Shepherd of the Georgia Department of Agriculture, Dr. Gary Burtle of the University of Georgia and Dr. Pat Duncan, director of the Georgia Center of Aquaculture Development at Fort Valley State.
In addition to the presentations, tours of on campus greenhouses with RAS and aquaponic systems are also scheduled.
