First Georgia Grown Farmers Showcase Takes Place in Atlanta June 16
Press Release by Issuing Company
Wednesday, June 13th, 2012
The Georgia Department of Agriculture will host the first Georgia Grown Farmers Showcase at the Atlanta State Farmers Market in Forest Park. This is a free event and everyone is invited this Saturday, June 16, from 8a to 4p, under Sheds 13-14.
Agriculture is Georgia’s number-one industry, and this event will use the Southeast’s largest farmers market to showcase what local producers have to offer. Farmers and producers from around the state will be at the Atlanta market. In addition to the fruits and vegetables you normally find at a farmers market, you can shop for meats, cheeses, live plants and flowers, jams, jellies, honey, bread and much more.
If you’ve never been to the Atlanta State Farmers Market, this is the perfect opportunity to see what it’s all about. The area between Sheds 13-14 will be closed to vehicles so pedestrians can mingle with farmers and vendors. There will also be entertainment and fun for everyone!
