Rural Legislators Battle Metal Theft with Three New Bills

Metal theft has cost the Georgia Farm Bureau's insurance arm about $1 million, the company said.
That does not count other insurance companies or the thefts that go unreported because farmers fear it will make them uninsurable.
A few bills are working through the state Legislature that, if passed, would end up in a much more regulated metal recycling industry.
