‘Gee Haw Whoa Back’ Rodeo at ABAC on March 2-3

Steer wrestling and bull riding return to the ABAC Rodeo Arena on March 2-3 when the popular “Gee Haw Whoa Back” rodeo will be back in the spotlight as part of this year’s Celebrate ABAC Alumni Weekend at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
The rodeo will hold two sanctioned rounds of competition with the preliminary round on March 2, and the finals on March 3. Both rounds start at 7 p.m. each evening at the ABAC Rodeo Arena. Gates open at 6 p.m.
Admission is $10 for general admission, $5 for children 6 – 12 years old and ABAC students with their Gold Card, and free to children under six.
Cowboys will participate in events including saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, bull riding, team roping, calf roping, and steer wrestling. Cowgirls will compete in break-away roping and barrel racing. The rodeo will also feature some audience participation events for both kids and adults.
A variety of family-friendly attractions including mechanical bullriding, a rock climbing wall, and pony rides will also be available. ABAC student clubs and organizations will feature face-painting and other fun games while spectators can take pictures with the rodeo bull mascot. Vendors will be on hand selling rodeo gear including hats, t-shirts, and leather goods.
