Extreme to exceptional drought now ongoing in Southeast Georgia and Southeast South Carolina

Rainfall has been exceptionally scarce in the southeast United States during the last several months.  Since January 1st only 1.45 inches of rain has fallen in Savannah.  The lack of appreciable rainfall during the last 14 days have resulted in worsening drought conditions with extreme to exceptional drought now blanketing the region.
