Closing Date Nears for Crop Insurance
Thursday, February 23rd, 2012
USDA's Risk Management Agency (RMA) reminds farmers of the Feb. 28, sales closing date for crop insurance.
This sales closing date is applicable for the following crops in Georgia: Cabbage (Rabun County only), Corn, Cotton, Flue-Cured Tobacco, Grain Sorghum, Peanuts and Soybeans.
The sales closing date is the last date to purchase a new policy or change the level of coverage for an existing policy.
Crop insurance is sold and delivered solely through private crop insurance agents. Contact a local Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) agent to learn additional program details.
A list of crop insurance agents is available at all USDA Service Centers or on the RMA website at http://www.rma.usda.gov/tools/agents/.
