Tift County FFA Students Teach Kids About Farm Life
Sunday, November 13th, 2011
Some Tift County FFA students got to be teachers Thursday. The school hosted its eighth annual farm day.
The high school students were the ones showing more than seven hundred third graders about farm life. They showed kids how to milk cows, care for horses, and all kinds of livestock. One of the FFA members says it was a thrill for them mainly because the kids loved it too.
"It's a great experience for us because we learn stuff research about the animals," said Tift County's FFA Chaplain Becca Bostick. "Especially, if you come from animal industry. I live on a dairy farm in Ty Ty so it's great to share it with these kids and let them learn about what I've been living on my whole life."
The instructor who runs the cow milking station said that the Tift FFA Farm show is one of the best in the state.
