Climatologist: Georgia's Getting Hotter

While the rest of the world was getting hotter, Georgia actually got cooler through much of the 20th century, according to a University of Georgia climatologist.

But since about 1970, Georgia’s been getting warmer like the rest of the globe, said Pam Knox, former assistant state climatologist, speaking to a campus symposium on global climate change.

And while the state is getting about the same amount of rain and snow that fell on Georgia a century ago, the way it’s falling is changing, she said.
