La Nina Could Mean more Water Woes for Georgia

Predictions of a double-dip La Nina could mean another dry winter and spring for South Georgia, with a resulting loss of recharge of streams and ground water.
The area began the year in the grip of an extreme La Nina weather system. La Nina, associated with cooler than normal temperatures in the Equatorial Pacific Ocean, usually results in winters and springs that are dryer and warmer than average.
