“Marking Every Acre Count”

The Georgia Small Farm Conference will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 31st and conclude at 12:00 noon on Friday, April 1st with a tour of two sustainable small farms to follow.  Topics to include:  Farm Planning and Marketing, Livestock Production and Local Fruit and Vegetable Production. Representatives from the Natural Resources Conservation Service, Farm Service Agency, Cooperative Extension Service, Rural Development, Soil & Water Conservation Commission and Georgia RC&D Councils will be on hand to discuss state and federal resources available to producers.  The keynote address will be given on Friday by Georgia Department of Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black.  For more information, or registration, visit www.areg.caes.uga.edu.  Scholarships are available on a first come first serve basis and March 24, 2011 is the application deadline.
